The Omani Oil Company discovered 2.9 trillion cubic feet of gas

In addition to achieving five oil discoveries, the Omani Oil Development Company has discovered a large gas field located in the north of its concession area. The field gas amount is estimated at 2.9 trillion cubic feet, as well as the presence of condensates which reach up to 115 million barrels.

Dr. Mohammed bin Hamad Al Rumhy, the Oil and Gas Minister, assured that the gas discovery came through the deep “Mabrook” field, which is about 40 km off west of the main “Seeh Rawl” field for gas production, noting that the exploratory drilling in the big field began last year until depths of up to five thousand meters and covered an area which amounted to 60 km2.
