QP Industrial Cities brings together northern communities, oil and gas industries at Ghabga event

Qatar Petroleum’s Industrial Cities Directorate recently celebrated the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan by organizing a Ghabga at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Doha last Tuesday.

The event was held in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry and Chairman of QP, and it was attended by a host of representatives from Qatar’s northern communities as well as the senior management of the major companies operating in Mesaieed Industrial City and Ras Laffan Industrial City.

Set between the Iftar and Suhoor and usually taken with the family, the Ghabga is a local tradition in the Gulf and it constitutes one of the Ramadan meals. This tradition brings people together and provides an opportunity for socializing and communal celebration of the holy month.

This year’s Ramadan coincides with the celebration of QP’s 40th anniversary. Ever since it was established to manage the resources bestowed by God on Qatar, QP has been striving to promote the values of equality, tolerance and solidarity, in line with the teachings of the holy month. It has spared no effort in developing capabilities and providing the best opportunities for education, training and employment for the benefit of Qatar’s citizens, the main asset of the nation. Social responsibility, communication and team spirit are the ethics governing QP’s initiatives and actions.

In this regard, the Ghabga held last Tuesday was an occasion to further strengthen the bonds among all parties involved in the activities of Qatar’s two industrial cities, which have been making a significant contribution to the unprecedented growth and development witnessed by the country over the last few decades.
